NURTURING OUR EMPLOYEES’ STRENGTHS & TALENTS


The Christ Hospital Health Network received an Employer Innovator Award from Cincinnati Works for investing in the talent and potential of our frontline employees! In 2021, we launched NEST—Nourishing Employee Strengths & Talents—with a pilot group of ten frontline employees. Participants received six months of life, career, and financial coaching, along with transportation, childcare, and housing support. Upon graduation, participants earned promotions into long-term growth positions. Juanita Guilford, who worked in housekeeping for 11 years, was promoted to a newly created Customer Care Representative job. "This is what I really like to do," she said. "Talk to patients, listen to them, and help them." Guilford credits Kristina Johnson, the on-site Cincinnati Works coach for NEST. "Kristina believed in me when I didn't believe in myself." Other NEST partners include La Soupe for groceries, prepared meals, and culinary education; Lyft for emergency transportation; and Bright Horizons for childcare assistance. A follow-up class of 50 NEST participants is now planned for Spring 2022.
